High-stakes standardized tests continue to be a deciding factor in many decisions related to how students and schools are rated. Going forward, state-wide assessments will also be a factor in determining teacher effectiveness.
This year, BPS students in grades 3-8 will be taking the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers tests in English language arts and math. Parents can start to familiarize themselves with these tests at the Parent Tech Night for PARCC. In addition to experiencing the online environment, parents will see sample items in order to better understand the tasks and content that will be presented to their children.
Parents are encouraged to attend.
